Primary Responsibilities
As Education and Stewardship Associate, Lydia supports the planning and coordination of educational programs and events, conducts annual monitoring visits to the Conservancy’s protected properties to ensure the goals of each conservation agreement are met, and works directly with landowners to address questions about their conservation easements.

Past Experience
Lydia has a variety of experience working with and conserving the ecology and environment of Pennsylvania. Lydia first gained experience with plants through working at her parent’s garden center where she learned about the maintenance, care and mitigation of native and non-native flora to the area. In the summer of 2024, Lydia volunteered with the Delaware Highlands Conservancy on monitoring visits where she was able to experience the conservation efforts put in place on a variety of properties around northeast Pennsylvania and New York areas.

Education
Lydia earned a B.S. in Ecology and Evolution and a B.A. in Music from the University of Pittsburgh.

Hobbies
Lydia loves being outside, reading, playing piano, listening to music and going to concerts, and spending time with friends, family and her cat, Ziggy Stardust.
