Land Protection Coordinator
Trey’s responsibilities include serving as the primary contact for initial inquiries from landowners, analyzing prospective and current land transactions, and working directly with landowners to draft land conservation agreements (conservation easements) and to ensure the land is in proper condition for a successful land conservation agreement based on Conservancy standards and Land Trust Alliance best practices.
Trey has a background in land protection, environmental finance, and community development. Most recently, he completed an AmeriCorps term as a Land Protection and Education Associate at Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy in Asheville, NC. During graduate school, he worked as a Research Assistant at the Environmental Finance Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before that, he worked as a Financial Analyst for a Community Development Bank in Chicago, IL.
Trey has a Master’s Degree in City & Regional Planning from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from The University of Chicago.
