RAISE Your Hearts Costumed Creature Crawl Trail Run/Walk
October 11, 2025 • 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
This fall, lace up your running shoes and put on your most creative costume for the Costumed Creature Crawl 5K Trail Run/Walk, hosted by RAISE Your Hearts, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting wellness in grief through connection, compassion, and community.
The event will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Van Scott Nature Reserve, featuring a scenic trail course. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in costume, adding a playful and spirited twist to a meaningful morning of movement and connection.
“Our goal is to create an event that celebrates life – no matter how short, and community while also raising awareness for the unique ways grief touches all of us,” said Alexi, Founder and Chair of RAISE Your Hearts. “The Costumed Creature Crawl is about movement, mindfulness, and joy — things that are essential to healing.”
This event is made possible in part by a grant from Women in Philanthropy (WIP), a group committed to transforming the lives of women and girls in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties. The grant, earmarked specifically for the Costumed Creature Crawl 5K, helps offset event costs so more families can attend. Last year, 30 participants joined the event (then named Baby Bib 5k), and this year RAISE Your Hearts hopes to welcome 50. Thanks to WIP’s support, a limited number of free registrations will be available for those who may be struggling to cover the fee.
