Timber Sale Field Tour
June 5 • 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Are you considering a timber harvest as part of your property’s long-term management? Do you want to learn more about what goes into a timber sale? Join Delaware Highlands Conservancy and the PA DCNR Bureau of Forestry for a “Walk and Talk” to have your questions answered!
Austin Noguera, Service Forester with the DCNR, and Steven Gosch, Stewardship Coordinator with Delaware Highlands Conservancy, will meet participants at the Delaware State Forest District Office to explore timber management planned on approximately 208 acres of adjacent forested land. The tour will visit select stands where techniques such as shelterwood cuts and overstory removal are planned while highlighting how trees are marked for sale, how management will support long-term forest health and species diversity, and how the harvest will provide opportunities for public education.
Closed-toe shoes required. Please dress for the weather. This event involves light to moderate outdoor activity and walking on uneven terrain. Event will be held rain or shine.
