Keeping Sullivan County Beautiful
General Manager Andy Gottehrer of The Sullivan in Rock Hill, New York presents a check to the Delaware Highlands Conservancy for contributions collected through the Green Lodging Partnership.
The Sullivan’s commitment to a sustainable region is extensive – locally sourcing everything from construction materials and lumber used in the 2012 renovations to farm fresh products from local farms and purveyors. Led by owner Butch Resnick, The Sullivan and other restaurants on the property, Crust Italian Eatery and Bernie’s Holiday Restaurant, realize that shopping local protects our quality of life and reinvests money back into our community.
And the Sullivan’s customers agree. Since joining the Delaware Highlands Conservancy’s Green Lodging Partnership in early 2013, the 70-room hotel in Sullivan County has collected more than $5,000 through voluntary, $2-per-stay contributions from its guests, which has been donated to the Conservancy to support its land conservation mission and the future of the Upper Delaware River region.
The Conservancy thanks The Sullivan and all of the Green Lodging Partners for their commitment to conserving our lands, waters, and sustainable local communities.
